- Perennial; caespitose; clumped densely. Culms 100-150 cm long. Culm-internodes antrorsely scabrous. Leaf-sheaths smooth, or scaberulous. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 2-3 mm long. Leaf-blades erect; involute; 50-75 cm long; 1 mm wide; stiff. Leaf-blade surface scabrous.
