Flowers small, in dense elongate spikes, each flower with a small bract; the spikes solitary or forming a branched synflorescence

Calyx cylindric, long-hairy particularly on tube, with 5 narrow subulate teeth
Corolla
Corolla-tube hairy inside and outside; limb short, 2-lipped, 5-lobed
Stamens
Stamens 4, slightly exserted; anthers synthecous, with a constriction near the middle
Ovary
Ovary 1-celled, with a single pendulous ovule; style filiform; stigma shortly 2-lobed
Fruits
Fruit thin-walled, ellipsoid.
Distribution
Genus of two species in the Horn of Africa region.
