    Habit
    Woody scrambler to ± 15 m with clear latex.
    Shoots
    Young shoots pubescent, older wood lenticellate on both surfaces
    Leaves
    Leaves with petiole 1.5–5 cm long, densely pubescent; lamina broadly ovate, obovate or suborbicular, 5–11 × 3–8 cm, apex acute to strongly acuminate, base mostly truncate, but occasionally cuneate or weakly cordate, softly pubescent
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescences lax, pedunculate, extra-axillary, irregularlybranched, densely pubescent.
    Peduncles
    Peduncles mostly 1.5–3 cm long.
    Bracts
    Bracts ovate, 1–2 mm long.
    Pedicel
    Pedicels 6–15 mm long
    Calyx
    Sepals ovate to lanceolate, (2–)3–5 × 1–2 mm, densely pubescent
    Flowers
    Flowers sweetly scented; buds narrowly conical, twisted, the corolla lobes overlapping to the right

    Corolla greenish-white, cream or yellow, united into a tube for 2–3 mm ± enclosing the gynostegium, the tube sparsely pubescent within with long hairs; lobes contorted, oblong, 4–6 × 1 mm, apex rounded or truncate, glabrous or sparsely pubescent outside, sparsely pubescent along the centre of the adaxial face, margins ciliate

    Corolline corona absent
    Stamens
    Staminal corona lobes ± 1.5 mm long, dorsiventrally flattened, tapering gently to an acute or occasionally rounded apex, adnate to the staminal column below and reaching to half way along the anther appendages
    Anthers
    Anther wings ± 0.8 mm long, gynostegium sessile; corpusculum ovoid, ± 0.3 mm long; translator arms ± 0.25 mm long.
    Pollinia
    Pollinia oblong-elliptic in outline, ± 0.5 × 0.2 mm, somewhat flattened
    Style
    Stylar head rostrate, to ± 3 mm long, exserted beyond anther appendages and the mouth of the corolla tube
    Fruits
    Follicles occuring singly or in opposite pairs, woody, ovoid, 6–8 × 2–3 cm, lacking longitudinal wings, but with fine longitudinal wrinkles when dry, pubescent.
    Seeds
    Seed obovate, ± 10 × 6 mm, flattened, smooth, with a shiny marginal rim; coma ± 3 cm long
