    Habit
    Shrub to 2.4 m; young stems (in part), petioles, underside of midrib, pedicels and particularly calyx-tube all densely short ferruginous-hairy or velvety; bark on twigs grey and fissured.
    Leaves
    Leaves oblong, 3–9.2 cm long, 2–4 cm wide, narrowed to a rounded apex, shallowly cordate at the base, with few hairs on midrib etc. above but soon glabrous, also a few hairs on blade beneath but only persistent on midrib; petioles 2 mm long.
    Inflorescences
    Fascicles 3–11-flowered; bracteoles 0.8 mm long, ciliate, but glabrous outside; pedicels 3–10 mm long, densely spreading pubescent; sepals 2 ± semicircular, 3.5 mm long, 2 mm wide, 2 ± circular, 4 mm long, 4 mm wide, all ciliate, concave and reflexed.
    Corolla
    Petals pinkish white, elliptic or oblong, 7–8 mm long, 4–5 mm wide, ciliate, reflexed at anthesis.
    Disc
    Disc densely shortly pubescent.
    Stamens
    Stamens at least 50, variable in length in one flower, 2–6.5 mm long; anthers 1 mm long.
    Pistil
    Style 5 mm long, ± pilose; stigma 0.7 mm wide.
    Fruits
    Fruits unknown.
    Habitat
    Riparian forest of Breonadia, Syzygium, Newtonia, Pachystela, Garcinia, ‘riverine tangle with patches of trees and shrubs’; 1400–1450 m
