    Habit
    Shrub or small tree up to 5 m. tall; bark papery; young branches densely pubescent.
    Leaves
    Leaves pinnate with leaflets 2–5-jugate, or very occasionally 3-foliolate; petiole up to 3 cm. long, densely pilose; leaflet-lamina up to 8·5 × 3·7 cm., narrowly obovate-oblong to oblong, apex obtuse or subacute, margin coarsely serrate and undulate, base broadly cuneate (at least in the terminal one) or rounded and often asymmetric, sparsely pubescent, nerves and veins very prominently reticulate below; petiolule c. 0·5 mm. long, densely pilose.
    Flowers
    Flowers in axillary paniculate cymes up to 5 cm. long; branches of inflorescence densely pilose; pedicels c. 1 mm. long, clustered, densely pilose; bracteoles up to 5 mm. long, densely pilose, caducous.
    Calyx
    Calyx c. 2 mm. long, campanulate, lobed a little less than half-way, densely pilose.
    Corolla
    Petals 4 mm. long, densely pilose outside.
    Stamens
    Stamen-filaments subterete.
    Disc
    Disk 4-lobed, sparsely pilose.
    Fruits
    Fruit c. 1·4 cm. in diam., subglobose, somewhat flattened, pubescent; pseudaril with 4 rather wavy-margined arms; endocarp c. 1 cm. in diam., lumpy-rugose, both faces moderately convex.

    Habit
    Shrub or small tree up to 5 m. tall, sometimes spiny; bark papery; young branches densely pubescent; exudate producing a gum-resin.
    Leaves
    Leaves olive-green when dry, pubescent or hispidulous, up to 26 cm. long, including a petiole up to 7 cm. and a terminal leaflet which may be up to 8 cm. long and 3 cm. wide and is cuneate at the base; lateral leaflets (2–)4–10(–14), but not more than 8 south of the equator, elliptic-oblong, up to 5 cm. long and 2 cm. wide, serrate, rounded or acute apically, rounded or subcordate basally on petiolules 1–2 mm. long, chief lateral veins 6–8 mm. on each side, vein network very prominent beneath, less so above.
    Flowers
    Flowers in dense, subglobose, hispid clusters on peduncles up to 5 cm. long in the ♂ and 4 cm. in the ♀; bracts linear-lanceolate, up to 6 mm. long; pedicels 1–2 mm. long.
    Receptacle
    Receptacle and calyx densely pubescent, the former a cup 0.8 mm. deep, enclosing 4 hispidulous disc lobes; calyx-tube 1.2 mm., the oval lobes 1 mm. long.
    Corolla
    Petals densely appressed-pilose outside, up to 6 mm. long and 1.3 mm. wide.
    Filaments
    Filaments 3 and 2 mm., anthers 0.8 and 0.7 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Fruits ellipsoid, single or in clusters on peduncles 15–40 mm. and pedicels 1–2 mm. long, pubescent, very shortly and broadly beaked, 10–12 × 8–9 × (1 + 4.5) mm.; pericarp 2-valved, fleshy; pseudaril of 4 rather wavy-margined linear arms, the sutural arms as long as the stone, the facial a little shorter; stone lumpy-rugose with gently convex faces, 7 × 7 × (0.7 + 3.5) mm.
