    General Description
    Stems small, climbing up to 50 cm long, 2-2.5 cm thick, internodes shorter than wide. Cataphylls lanceolate, ca. 10 cm long. LEAVES: Petiole weakly canaliculate adaxially, 1.5 to 2 times longer than blade, 40-50 cm long, blade chartaceous, somewhat rigid, bluish green, ovate-cordate in larger leaves, sometimes almost as wide as long , sometimes twice as long as wide, 30 cm long, 15-25 cm wide, lateral veins 1-2 cm apart, posterior lobes short and nearly semi-orbicular, apex narrowly cuspidate, primary lateral veins of the anterior lobe on each side ca. 15 and basal ones 1-2, joined into a collective vein a little distant from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle slender, equalling the petiole, often 45 cm long. Spathe linear-lanceolate, acuminate, decurrent on peduncle, ca. 8 cm long, 1.5 cm wide. Spadix in flower ca. 10 cm long, 5 mm thick, cylindric, brownish or copper, in fruit 8 mm thick. Tepals eventually 2 mm long, 1.5 mm wide. Pistil 2.5 mm long when almost mature, style short, conoid.
