    Type: Tanzania, Morogoro District: Uluguru Mts, E side of Bondwa, Faden 70/631 (herb. Pic.Serm., holo.; EA!, K!, iso.)
    Habit
    Terrestrial or epiphyte.
    Rhizomes
    Rhizome oblique or suberect, to 20 mm diameter, with rhizome scales brown, ovate, 3–4 × 1.2–1.4 mm, margin sometimes with a few teeth, acuminate.
    Leaves
    Fronds tufted, ± erect, not proliferous.
    Stipes
    Stipe 6–12 cm long, sparsely scaly.
    Leaf lamina
    Lamina lanceolate, 7–20 × 1.8–3.8 cm, entire, margin rather obscurely crenate, apex attenuate into an obtuse tip.
    Leaf veins
    Veins branched about halfway; with minute sparse scales beneath.
    Sori
    Sori along the veins, almost reaching midrib and margin, linear, (5–)7–20 mm long.
    Indusium
    Indusium entire, membranaceous, to 1.4 mm wide.
    Ecology
    Moist forest; 1650–2400 m
    Conservation
    Here assessed as Endangered (EN-B2a, biii) due to the limited area of occupancy coupled to a threat to the forest habitat at lower altitudes.
    Note
    This taxon is in the “ variabile” group but split off by Pichi Sermolli. Sadly, he did not indicate how pocsii differs from paucijugum; he merely describes differences with a taxon from Madagascar.
