- Habit
- Shrub up to 3 m. tall; branches brownish, spreading, stiff, frequently spinescent or armed with ± long thorns, cylindric, striate, hispidulous.
- Petiole
- Petiole 0·75–1·5 cm. long, slender, dorsally convex, canaliculate above and somewhat winged towards the apex.
- Leaflets
- Leaflets concolorous (pale-brownish when dried), lanceolate, entire, acute and usually mucronulate at the apex, narrowed at the base, subcoriaceous, hispidulous in both surfaces, ciliate on the margin, frequently covered with a shining layer of resin, the median one up to 5 × 0·8 cm.; midrib impressed above, slightly raised below; lateral nerves barely or not visible.

- Panicles axillary and terminal, of variable length, very lax, with the axis, branches and the 1·5–4 mm. long pedicels hispidulous.
- Calyx
- Calyx-segments 0·5–0·75 mm., ovate or rounded, dorsally sparsely ciliate.
- Corolla
- Petals c. 1·25 mm. long, oblong, obtuse.
- Fruits
- Drupe pale-brownish, 4–5 mm. in diam., subglobose.
