    Habit
    Scandent subshrub or herbaceous liane, 2.5–6.3 m high; stem glabrous.
    Leaves
    Leaves broadly ovate, 3–12 cm long, 2.5–9 cm wide, base cordate, margins entire or with two teeth on each side near the base, apex acute-cuspidate, usually glabrous, rarely minutely pilose or sparsely tomentellous; palmately 5–7-veined from the base; petiole 3–6 cm long.
    Capitulum
    Capitula in terminal and upper axillary simple or paniculate corymbs with glabrous axes, disciform; stalk of individual heads 5.3–6.3 mm long; involucre obconic, 4.2–5.5 mm long; bracts of calyculus 3, lanceolate, 1.5–2 mm long, sparsely hairy; phyllaries 8–11, oblong-lanceolate, 4.2–5.5 mm long, glabrous but shortly hairy at the apex.
    Florets
    Florets female on the periphery, hermaphrodite towards the centre; corolla white, 5.5–7.5 mm long, lobes 0.5–1.4 mm long; stigma bifid, flattened, apex truncate or rounded.
    Fruits
    Achenes subcylindrical, 1.5–4 mm long, ribbed, glabrous. Pappus 6–7 mm long, creamy white.
