    Type: Europe, LINN 1250/12 (LINN, lecto.)
    Rhizomes
    Rhizome erect, with clathrate dark brown subulate attenuate rhizome scales up to 4 × 0.5 mm, often with a dark central stripe and paler narrow borders.
    Leaves
    Fronds tufted, erect to arching, firmly membranous, not proliferous.
    Stipes
    Stipe dark brown, 1–9 cm long, usually less than 1/6 the length of the lamina, glabrous.
    Leaf lamina
    Lamina narrowly linear in outline, 6–23 × 1–1.5 cm, 1-pinnate, lower pinnae slightly reduced.
    Pinnae
    Pinnae in 26–32 pairs, broadly oblong to obovate, up to 8 × 5.5 mm, shortly petiolate, crenate, glabrous on both surfaces or with a few minute scales beneath.
    Rachis
    Rachis dark brown, glabrous.
    Sori
    Sori 1–6 per pinna, oblong at first, almost covering the dorsal surface of the pinna at maturity.
    Indusium
    Indusium narrowly oblong, membranous, to 0.3 mm wide, entire.
