Conservation
The species is now known by two divergent 'populations', one in Luzon and the other in Mindoro. As both forms are known from rather few collections and localities, there must be some concern
Morphology Leaves Petiole
Petioles are 1.5 - 3 cm long in Luzon, 2.5 - 5.5 cm long in Mindoro.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Flowers Androecium Stamens
There are 22 - 31 stamens in the Mindoro specimens, but only 14 in Luzon.
Note
Also, fibres persist on the old stones from Mindoro but are detached fairly readily from the Luzon collection, in which three fine cracks radiating from the apex are sometimes visible in the dried mesocarp. In BS 33377, there are no false sutures and the stone is ± circular in section In Coode 5726, three sutures are clearly visible and there are alternating 'false sutures' complete from apex to base; dehiscence is clearly into three 'valves', and in transverse section, the stone is ± 6-lobed More collections are needed to establish whether the differences described here are consistent. The stones found under Coode 5726 (Mindoro) are eroded and probably chewed by mice, but show a more organised arrangement of more rounded sculpturing than those from BS 33377 (Luzon)
