- Procumbent to straggling perennial herb; stems up to 2 m. long, though generally less, moderately branched, often becoming rather woody and up to 6–7 mm. in diameter below, green or reddish tinged, rooting at the lower nodes, glabrous or sparsely pubescent in the younger parts.

- Leaves spirally arranged; petiole 1–8.8(–9) cm. long, slender; lamina ovate to ovate-lanceolate or ovate-elliptical, 3.5–14.5(–16) cm. long, 2.2–7.5 cm. broad, the base rounded to slightly attenuate, the apex acuminate, glabrous or sparsely pubescent on both surfaces; lateral veins 7–12 pairs; margin crenate to crenate-dentate, with several 1.5–2.5 mm. long fimbriae towards, and at, the base.
