    Perennial, erect herb; stems simple or sparsely branched.

    Leaves alternate, scale-like, entire.

    Flowers medium-sized, terminally racemose, pedicellate, bi-bracteolate.

    Calyx campanulate, shortly 5-lobed.
    Corolla
    Corolla 5-lobed; lobes broad, entire, subequal, erect, spreading, tube enlarged above, somewhat incurved.
    Stamens
    Stamens 4, didynamous, included, glabrous; anthers free, thecae apically attached, becoming divergent at anthesis.
