    Habit
    Perennial; caespitose; clumped loosely. Culms erect, or geniculately ascending, or decumbent; 5-45 cm long; 4 -noded; rooting from lower nodes. Culm-internodes 0.6-4.5 cm long. Culm-nodes pubescent. Leaf-sheaths 0.4-1.75 cm long; glabrous on surface, or pubescent; with tubercle-based hairs; outer margin hairy. Ligule a fringe of hairs; 0.7-1.5 mm long. Leaf-blades linear, or lanceolate, or ovate; 0.9-5.5 cm long; 2-5 mm wide. Leaf-blade venation with 5 secondary veins. Leaf-blade surface scaberulous; glabrous, or puberulous. Leaf-blade margins scaberulous.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescence a panicle. Panicle contracted; lanceolate, or elliptic; 2.5-5 cm long; 1-3 cm wide. Primary panicle branches 3-12 in number; 1-1.8 cm long; bearing 6-17 fertile spikelets on each lower branch. Panicle branches eglandular, or glandular; smooth, or scaberulous. Spikelets in pairs. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels filiform; glandular; smooth, or scaberulous.

Fertile lemma elliptic; 0.9-1.4 mm long; 0.65-1.05 mm wide; coriaceous; without keel. Lemma surface pubescent. Lemma margins involute. Lemma apex obtuse. Palea 0.75-1.3 mm long; coriaceous. Palea surface puberulous.
