    Habit
    Annual; culms slender, 25–70 cm. high.
    Leaves
    Leaf-blades spreading to deflexed, narrowly lanceolate, (2–)4–10(–15) cm. long, (2–)4–10 mm. wide, narrowed to widened at the base, flat, membranous, pale, often yellowish green, glabrous or pilose, acute or acuminate.

    Panicle broadly ovate to oblong, (3–)5–12(–18) cm. long, moderately to much branched.

Fertile lemma oblong; dorsally compressed; 1-1.5 mm long; chartaceous; pallid; without keel. Lemma surface tuberculate (verruculose). Lemma margins involute. Lemma apex obtuse. Palea involute; chartaceous. Palea surface tuberculate (verruculose).
