    Habit
    Short-lived perennial, with slender ascending or usually prostrate or decumbent stems, often forming mats.
    Stem
    Stems sparsely or rarely densely covered with spreading hairs.
    Leaves
    Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets elliptic or obovate-elliptic, up to 14–30 mm. long and 10–25 mm. wide, with few scattered hairs above, appressed pubescent beneath; petiole up to 13–23 mm. long.
    Stipules
    Stipules subulate, 1–2 mm. long.
    Inflorescences
    Racemes long and slenderly pedunculate, up to 7–16 cm. long, with few widely spaced flowers on the very slender rhachis; bracts subulate, up to 1–1·5 mm. long; bracteoles inserted at the base of the calyx, similar.
    Calyx
    Calyx 3·5–4·5 mm. long, thinly pubescent; lobes narrowly attenuate-triangular, a little longer than the tube.
    Corolla
    Standard broadly elliptic, yellow or flushed pink, veined and sometimes suffused brown or purplish, glabrous outside; wings shorter than the keel; keel strongly rounded about the middle, with a narrow slightly incurved untwisted beak, 6–7 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Pod subsessile, oblong-ellipsoid, up to 13–16 mm. long, 4·5–7 mm. across, pubescent, ± 14–20-seeded.
    Seeds
    Seeds oblique-cordiform, ±2·5 mm. long, smooth, brown.
    Habitat
    Clearings and margins of upland rain-forest, evergreen bushland and upland grassland, also persisting on roadsides and cultivated ground; 850–1800 m.
