    Shrub up to 1–3 m. tall.

    Branches ribbed, puberulous.

    Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets elliptic to oblong-obovate, up to 3·3–5 cm. long, 2–2·6 cm. wide, glabrous above, appressed puberulous beneath; petiole slender, ± 3–5–5 cm. long.
    Stipules
    Stipules filiform, up to 2–6 mm. long.
    Inflorescences
    Racemes rather lax, up to 19–30 cm. long, many-flowered; bracts linear-subulate, ± 3–5 mm. long, usually persistent; bracteoles inserted on the upper part of the pedicel or at the base of the calyx, filiform, ± 1–2 mm. long.
    Calyx
    Calyx 11–13 mm. long, puberulous; upper and lateral lobes on each side usually cohering at the tips, ultimately free and sometimes reflexed; narrowly caudate-deltoid, ± 1–2 times as long as the tube.
    Corolla
    Standard broadly elliptic to suborbicular-obovate, bright yellow, glabrous outside; wings broadly oblong, longer than the keel; keel rounded about the middle, with a fairly short twisted beak, 17–20 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Pod stipitate, markedly inflated, broadened gradually towards the rather abruptly contracted apex, ± 50–60 mm. long, 18–25 mm. across, puberulous, sometimes glabrescent, developing prominent veins, ± 60–80-seeded; stipe ± 8–10 mm. long.
    Seeds
    Seeds oblique-cordiform, ± 3 mm. long, smooth, brown.
    Habitat
    Upland evergreen bushland and forest margins; 2100–2600 m.
