    Habit
    Erect annual, up to 3–10(–17) dm. tall, well branched, subappressed to spreading pubescent or glabrous.
    Leaves
    Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets variable in shape, linear to lanceolate, oblanceolate or elliptic, up to 20–58 mm. long, 4–18 mm. wide; petiole up to 15–35 mm. long.
    Stipules
    Stipules subulate to linear-lanceolate, ± 1·5–4 mm. long.
    Inflorescences
    Racemes up to 12–30(–40) cm. long, laxly 12–many-flowered; bracts linear-lanceolate, 1–1·5 mm. long; bracteoles inserted on the pedicel, inconspicuous.
    Calyx
    Calyx 2·5–3·5(–4) mm. long; lobes subulate, 2–3 times as long as the tube.
    Corolla
    Standard elliptic or oblong-obovate, usually pale yellow; wings generally shorter than the keel; keel bent at right-angles in the lower third, with a long narrow untwisted beak, (4–) 5–7 (–9) mm. long, often speckled.
    Fruits
    Pod shortly stipitate, shortly oblong-ellipsoid to oblong-obovoid, 5–7 mm. long, 3·5–4 mm. across, 1–2-seeded.
    Seeds
    Seeds oblique-cordiform, ± 3 mm. long, rugulose to nearly smooth, brown.
