Habit
Low spreading perennial, sometimes rooting at the nodes; stems reddish with a very few appressed hairs, often rather woody at the base.
Leaves
Stipules subulate-setaceous, up to 5 mm. long; rhachis sparingly strigulose, up to 43 mm. long, including a petiole of up to 5 mm., prolonged some 2 mm. beyond the lateral leaflets; leaflets 7–13, with well-developed filiform stipellae, narrowly cuneate-oblong, mucronate, up to 15 mm. long and 5 mm. wide, glabrous or nearly so above, strigulose beneath.
Inflorescences
Racemes 10–25-flowered, sparingly strigulose, up to 20 cm. long, including a peduncle of up to 5 cm.; bracts filiform, 1–5 mm. long, caducous; pedicels 1.5 mm. long, ± reflexed after flowering.
Calyx
Calyx sparingly strigulose, up to 5 mm. long; lobes narrowly triangular, longer than the tube, the lower lobe longer than the others.
Corolla
Standard white puberulent outside; wings and keel puberulent at the margins.
Stamens
Stamens 13–15 mm. long.
Fruits
Fruit with thickened sutures, somewhat upturned near the apex, beaked, ± 4 cm. long and 2.5 mm. wide, glabrous, ± 13-seeded.
Habitat
Rocky outcrops, on sand in lowland forests and coconut groves; 0–350 m.; rainfall 1000–1200 mm.
