- Annual up to 50 cm. tall; stems reddish, appressed pubescent with short soft white hairs.
- Leaves
- Stipules lanceolate-subulate, 3–4 mm. long; leaf-rhachis up to 2 cm. long, including a petiole of 1–2 mm., prolonged 1–2 mm. beyond lateral leaflets; dark filiform stipellae 0.3–1 mm. long sometimes present; leaflets 9–11 in the lower leaves, usually 7 in the leaves subtending inflorescences, elliptic, apiculate, up to 8 mm. long and 3 mm. wide, strigulose on both surfaces.

- Racemes pubescent with short white hairs, up to 4 or 5 cm. long, including a peduncle of up to 8 mm.; bracts linear-lanceolate, 1.5 mm. long, caducous; pedicels spreading, 1–1.5 mm. long.
