Diagnostic
Closely resembles I. drepanocarpa, but the leaves are elliptic and more or less cuneate or less often rounded at the base, never truncate or cordate, and the hairs on the stems and inflorescence-rhachis very sparse and appressed.

Damp open places, often on sand; 0–100 m.; rainfall 560–1100 mm.
