    Habit
    Erect annual or short-lived perennial, up to 1 m. tall.
    Stem
    Stem villous with very long spreading hairs over a denser pubescence.
    Leaves
    Leaves 7–9-foliolate; leaflets oblanceolate-cuneate to narrowly oblong-elliptic, up to 25–70 mm. long, 5–15 mm. wide, pointed or rounded at the apex, usually pilose on both surfaces; petiole 7–16 cm. long.
    Stipules
    Stipules with the free part linear-subulate, 10–30 mm. long.
    Inflorescences
    Racemes up to 15–50 cm. long, with many ± verticillate flowers; bracts linear-caudate to lanceolate-caudate, up to 20 mm. long; pedicels 3–6 mm. long.
    Calyx
    Calyx (8–)10–12 mm. long, tomentose; upper lip bifid; lower lobe entire to minutely 3-fid.
    Corolla
    Standard suborbicular, mostly blue or pink, glabrous; wings ± as long as the keel; keel narrowly beaked, 12–14 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Pod narrowly oblong, with a small straight beak, 25–40 mm. long, 5–8 mm. wide, villous, with rather thin valves impressed between the 3–6 rather small seeds.
    Habitat
    Near rivers, roadsides and in waste places; 1650–1800 m.
