    Habit
    Tree c. 15-20 m. high, with smooth longitudinally striated dark-grey bark and spreading crown, apparently unarmed; young branchlets and leaf- and pinna-rhachides densely rusty-tomentose.
    Leaves
    Leaves: pinnae 12-16 pairs; leaflets 20-54 pairs, 4-7·5 x 1-1·3 mm., linear-oblong, ± obtuse at the apex, subglabrous except for ciliate margins or the basal leaflets more pubescent; basal pair of leaflets differentiated as in Cathormion altissimum.

    Inflorescences on peduncles 2-4·5 cm. long.
    Flowers
    Flowers whitish, subsessile or very shortly pedicellate.
    Calyx
    Calyx 1·5-3 mm. long, densely puberulous to short-pubescent outside.
    Corolla
    Corolla c. 4-5 mm. long, pubescent at least towards the ends of the lobes outside.
    Fruits
    Pod indehiscent or breaking transversely at irregular intervals, c. 10-18 x 1·6-2 cm., straight or slightly twisted, mostly straight-margined.
