    Habit
    Perennial herb with wiry roots.
    Stem
    Stems decumbent, up to 6 dm. long.
    Leaves
    Leaves 2-foliolate; leaflets obliquely ovate at the base, grading to lanceolate and linear-lanceolate towards the apex of the stem, rather obtuse or the narrower ones subacute, mostly very shortly apiculate, glabrous, obscurely glandular-punctate beneath.
    Stipules
    Stipules narrowly lanceolate, up to 12 mm. long.
    Bracts
    Bracts ovate, acute, longer than the internodes, not obviously glandular, glabrous.
    Flowers
    Flowers nearly as long as the bracts.
    Calyx
    Calyx ± 3 mm. long.
    Corolla
    Petals creamy, with red veins on lower part of standard, and both wings and keel yellow apically; standard up to 8 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Legume up to 12 mm. long and 5-seeded; segments 2 × 2.5 mm., without bristles, glabrous.
    Habitat
    Sandy grassland in Brachystegia, Uapaca woodland; 990–1120 m.
