Note
Two further subspecies, subsp. subhirsutum and subsp. subvillosum (Salzm. ex Schult.) Duyfjes, both in the Mediterranean area, were recognized by De Wilde-Duyfjes (1976). The single collection known from Somalia was made near “Adadle” in 1899.
