    Habit
    Trailing annual or biennial herb, sometimes rooting at the nodes; stems up to 1 m. long, slender, with sparse weak long hairs.
    Leaves
    Leaf-lamina up to 5 × 4 cm., broadly ovate-cordate to suborbicular-cordate, papyraceous, apex usually acuminate, margin crenate-serrate or ± doubly serrate, base broadly cordate, sparsely pubescent (hairs usually simple) on both surfaces; petiole about as long as the lamina, hairy like the stems.
    Flowers
    Flowers pale yellow, solitary or in shortly peduncled subumbellate few-flowered racemes in the axils of the upper leaves; pedicels up to 35 mm. long, slender to filiform, usually with a few hairs, articulated near the middle.
    Calyx
    Calyx 5–6 mm. long, lobed to about the middle, nearly glabrous; lobes ciliate, triangular, acute.
    Corolla
    Petals 4–6 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Mericarps 5, c. 3 mm. long, not reticulated, shortly bicuspidate, pubescent at the apex and on the subsetaceous ± connivent awns, slightly longitudinally keeled on the back and lateral edges.
