    Leaves
    Leaves glaucous,± succulent, without a petiole, broadly lanceolate up to 70 cm. long and 10–15 cm. broad, with a distinct longitudinal midrib and more than 50 closely parallel longitudinal nerves; margin glabrous and not undulate.
    Scape
    Scape up to 75 cm.
    Bracts
    Spathe-valves, flowers and fruit like C. jagus.
    Habitat
    Savanna; about 1200 m.
