    Habit
    Perennial or annual herb, 30–70 cm tall
    Stem
    Stems erect, much spreading, branched, striate, 4-angled, glabrous
    Leaves
    Leaves alternate, shortly petiolate (petiole 0.5–1 mm), linear to oblong-spathulate, (5–)10–30 × (0.5–)1–2(–3) mm, acuminate or emarginate and mucronate, base cuneate, glabrous
    Flowers
    Flowers bluish, pinkish mauve, salmon pink or yellowish, in lax terminal racemes 12–30 cm long; rachis glabrous; bracts linear, 1–1.3 mm long, glabrous; bracteoles linear, 1 mm long, glabrous; pedicels 1.5–2 mm, glabrous
    Calyx
    Posterior sepal ovate, 1.5–1.8 mm long, ciliolate; wing sepals obovateelliptic, 3–3.5 × 1–1.3 mm, glabrous, early caducous; anterior sepals 1–1.2 mm long, ciliolate, connate
    Corolla
    Upper petals obovate-spathulate, 3–3.5 × 2 mm; carina 3.5–4 × 1.8–2 mm; crest 1 mm long, fimbriate
    Stamens
    Stamens 6 fertile with 2 staminodes, glabrous
    Fruits
    Capsule ovate in outline, 3.5–4(–5) × (2–)2.5–3 mm, deeply asymmetric-bilobate and long acuminate (acumen up to 1–1.5 mm), glabrous, unwinged
    Seeds
    Seeds conical, 2.5–3 × 1–1.2 mm, sericeous-pubescent; caruncle pyramidal, 0.8–1 mm long; appendages 0.4–0.6 mm long
