    Shrublet or perennial herb sending up annual shoots 5–25 cm long from a woody rootstock and forming tufts

    Leaves alternate, petiolate (petiole 0.5–1 mm), oblanceolate to obovate-linear, exceptionally linear, 5–25 × (2–)3–6 mm, acute, base cuneate, margin revolute, sparsely pubescent to glabrescent

    Flowers pink to yellow, in terminal or lateral simple or few-branched, many-flowered racemes up to 6 cm long; rachis sparsely pubescent to glabrescent; bracts linear, ± 0.7 mm long, caducous; bracteoles linear, 0.5 mm long, caducous; pedicels 2–3 mm, sparsely pubescent to glabrescent
