    Habit
    Shrub up to 1·8 m. tall, usually erect, much-branched, densely bushy.
    Branches
    Branches ± diffuse, flexible, widely spreading, densely retrorsely sericeous when young.
    Leaves
    Leaves trifoliolate, ± closely arranged on short shoots; leaflets up to 8(10) x 1·7 mm., oblanceolate to rhombic with acute apex, glabrous, flat (in shade forms) or with margins slightly revolute but never concealing the midrib as in C. nitidula; venation weakly pinnate; stipules triangular, usually hairy on abaxial surface.

    Stamens 4(5).
    Stigma
    Stigma 1, almost sessile.
