    Habit
    Scandent or ? erect glabrous shrub to ± 2 m. tall, the stems quadrangular, with very shallow wings when young.
    Leaves
    Leaf-blades mostly elliptic or somewhat oblong-oblanceolate, (3.5–)4.5–12 cm. long, (0.9–)1.8–3.5 cm. wide, acute or shortly acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, slightly shining, scarcely coriaceous; petioles 2–4.5 mm. long; stipules 2.5–3.5 mm. long.
    Inflorescences
    Flowering branchlets 3–13 cm. long, the heads 9–15-flowered; peduncles 2–8(–?17) mm. long; pedicels very short or obsolete; bracteoles small.
    Calyx
    Calyx-tube 1.4 mm. long; limb 0.5 mm. long; lobes 2.5 mm. long.
    Corolla
    Corolla-tube 2.5–3.5 cm. long, ± 1 mm. wide; lobes 7 mm. long, 2–2.8 mm. wide, obtuse.
    Anthers
    Anthers 2–2.5 mm. long.
    Pistil
    Style 5.5–7.5 mm. long; stigma 2.5 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Fruits 8 mm. in diameter.
    Seeds
    Seeds yellow-brown, angular, 3–4 in each locule, 3.75 mm. long, with circular excavation, smooth and glossy.
