- Erect annual herb, with branched glabrous or very slightly scabridulous stems, 35–70 cm. tall.

- Leaves linear, 3–6 cm. long, 0.8–1.5 mm. wide, narrowly acute at the apex, narrowed to the base, glabrous; stipular sheath 1–1.5 mm. long, with 2 filiform setae 0.7–1.5 mm. long.
- Inflorescences
- Inflorescences very lax panicles; pedicels very graceful, 1–1.5 cm. long, lengthening up to 2–4 cm. long in fruit, glabrous.
- Calyx
- Calyx-tube ellipsoid, 0.8 mm. long, papillose; lobes narrowly triangular, 1.3 mm. long, slightly scabridulous at the margins.
