    Habit
    Prostrate or ascending annual herb (2–)8–22 cm. tall or long, sometimes forming mats; stems branched, glabrescent or with minutely setulose ribs.
    Leaves
    Leaf-blades linear to narrowly elliptic, 0.7–3.4 cm. long, 0.5–4.5 mm. wide, subobtuse to usually acute at the apex, cuneate at the base, scabrid papillose above, on the inrolled margins and often on the main nerve beneath but mostly glabrous beneath; petiole absent or apparent petiole 1–2 mm. long; stipule-sheath 1.2–2 mm. long, with 3–7 long and short fimbriae up to 1.5 mm. long.

    Flowers not heterostylous, sometimes solitary at the nodes or few in subsessile axillary fascicles; peduncles obsolete or up to 2 mm. long; pedicels 1–3 mm. long.
    Calyx
    Calyx-tube obconic to campanulate, ± 1 mm. long, glabrous or sparsely pubescent; lobes 4–8, triangular or linear-subulate, 0.6–1.1 mm. long, 0.2–0.3 mm. wide, margins setulose-ciliolate.
    Corolla
    Corolla white, deep lilac, dull reddish, pink or lilac; tube cylindrical, 0.6–0.9 mm. long; lobes 4, 0.5–0.6 mm. long.

    Anthers included.
    Pistil
    Style 0.2 mm. long, glabrous; stigma-lobes 0.2 mm. long, adjacent to the anthers.
