Morphology General Habit
A hysteranthous geophyte, with a tuberous root ± 4.5 cm. thick, producing a woody subterranean stem ± 2 cm. long; flowering stems 1–2, ± 8 cm. high, ± fleshy, with several scale-like glabrous ovate leaves ± 5 × 2 mm. and minute glandular stipules; fully developed leaves not seen.

Cymes on longitudinally ridged peduncles to 2 cm. long, 2-forked; bract-cup ± equal to the involucre, ovate, ± 4 × 6 mm., notched to ± halfway between acute apices.
