    Habit
    Tree to 10 m. or so, sometimes with spines 2.5–5 cm. long, shortly hairy.
    Leaves
    Leaves digitately trifoliolate, alternate; leaflets elliptic-ovate, 4–13.5 cm. long, obtusely acuminate.
    Flowers
    Flowers 4–5-merous in axillary or terminal fascicles or racemes; stamens 40–50.
    Fruits
    Fruit 5–12.5 cm. in diameter, with a hard shell, greyish brown, with orange-red fleshy pulp.
    Distribution
    ‘Bael Fruit‘ or ‘Bengal Quince’ is a native of Asia.
