    Habit
    Pyrophytic herb 13–20(–30) cm. tall, but otherwise very similar to P. decora; stems simple, erect, hairy.

    Leaves opposite or in whorls of 3; leaf-blades elliptic, 3.2–11 cm. long, 1.4–3 cm. wide, ± acute at the apex, rounded or cuneate at the base, hairy; petioles 0–3 mm. long; stipules small, with 1–5 deltoid segments 4 mm. long.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescences terminal, dense, 4–12-flowered; peduncles 1–1.5 cm. long.
    Flowers
    Flowers white, greenish or blue.
    Calyx
    Calyx-tube 2–4 mm. long, hairy; lobes deltoid to narrowly triangular, subequal, 4–6.5 mm. long.
    Corolla
    Corolla-tube 6.5–13 cm. long, 1–3 mm. wide, hairy outside; throat densely hairy, the hairs spreading over the inside of the lobes; lobes elliptic or oblong-obovate, 1.2–2 cm. long, 5–10 mm. wide, hairy outside.
    Stamens
    Stamens entirely included.
    Pistil
    Style exserted for 4–8(–12) mm., minutely tomentose; stigma-lobes 2 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Capsule not seen.

    Upland grassland subject to burning; 1980–2820 m.
