- Habit
- Suffrutex with upright stems up to 0·9 m. tall arising from a long horizontal woody rhizome; stems unbranched or ± branched, cinnamon-brownish, cylindric, striate, very shortly puberulous, more densely so in the upper parts.
- Petiole
- Petiole 1·5–5·5 cm. long, canaliculate and inconspicuously to distinctly winged above, puberulous to glabrescent.
- Leaflets
- Leaflets subconcolorous to discolorous, thinly membranous when young, the oldest ones papyraceous to subcoriaceous (sometimes coriaceous), glabrous or very sparsely hispid and densely lepidote mainly in the juvenile state, the scales roundish, appressed, whitish to ferruginous; median leaflet 7–10 × 2–3·5 cm., lanceolate, rhombic to obovate, obtuse or acute and mucronate at the apex, cuneate at the base, the lateral ones oblong to ovate, obtuse, a little to very asymmetric at the base; lateral nerves and venation very conspicuous, prominent on the under surface.
