    Habit
    Shrub or small tree 1–4 m. high; twigs with greyish or brown bark, densely covered with upwardly directed or patent hairs when young.
    Leaves
    Leaf-blades discolorous, drying brownish above and grey-green beneath or light green above and beneath, broadly elliptic, oblong-elliptic or oblong, 0.9–4.6 cm. long, 0.7–2.8 cm. wide, rounded and either somewhat emarginate or apiculate at apex, rounded, truncate or sometimes subcordate at base, scabrid above, sparsely pubescent beneath; lateral nerves in 3–4 main pairs, acutely angled and impressed above; tertiary nerves obscure; domatia absent; petiole 0.5–2 mm. long, densely pubescent; stipules linear or linear-oblong from a shortly triangular base, 0.5–1 cm. long, pubescent outside.
    Flowers
    Flowers 4–5-merous. Functionally ♂ flowers, borne in subsessile to shortly pedunculate (1–)3–8-flowered umbels; peduncles up to 5 mm. long, pubescent; pedicels 2–8 mm. long, sparsely pubescent; bracteoles apparent on pedunculate inflorescences; calyx-tube reduced, pubescent or sparsely pubescent; limb lobed to base; lobes linear, 0.5–1.25 mm. long, sparsely pubescent; corolla white or yellow; tube 0.75–1.25 mm. long, with a ring of deflexed hairs at throat; lobes erect, triangular, 0.75–1 mm. long, ± 0.75 mm. wide, pubescent outside. Functionally ♀ flowers solitary; peduncles ± absent or up to 5 mm. long, pubescent; pedicels 3–10 mm. long, pubescent; calyx-tube 1.5 mm. long; limb similar to ♂; corolla not known.
