    Leaves
    Leaves as in subsp. crassa.
    Calyx
    Calyx pale green(-brown) outside with darker reticulate venation, outer lobes broadly ovate, 15–22 × 11–16 mm, base (sub)cordate, margin spinulose-dentate; lateral lobes 3–5.5 mm long.
    Corolla
    Corolla white or pinkish, sparsely pilose or largely glabrous externally; tube 16.5–20 mm long, broadly campanulate above attachment point of stamens; abaxial and lateral lobes 14–18 mm long; adaxial lobes 10–15 mm long.
    Staminodes
    Lateral staminodes 3–3.7 mm long, largely lacking pilose hairs; antherodes barely developed or to 0.5 mm long.
    Distribution
    Also in SW Tanzania.
    Ecology
    In Brachystegia and Pterocarpus woodland on sandy soils, dry rocky hillslopes and cliffs, riverbanks; 1000–1250 m.
    Conservation
    Conservation notes: With a highly restricted range but habitats not under particular threat; assessed as Data Deficient in F.T.E.A. but probably not threatened.
