    Habit
    Annual, with a short stem, soon developing numerous slender radiating procumbent to prostrate branches up to 10–50 cm long, pilose.
    Leaves
    Leaves opposite at flowering nodes, otherwise alternate, 3-foliolate, often larger on initial stem and its more distal branches; leaflets 8–25(35) × 1.5–4(6) mm, oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic-oblanceolate, slightly apiculate, subglabrous to pilose above, pilose beneath; petiole shorter to markedly longer than the leaflets; stipules single at a node, 5–10 × 3–10 mm, broadly ovate to oblate, often somewhat acuminate, several-nerved from the base.
    Flowers
    Flowers several to numerous, produced successively in a cluster at the nodes, sessile, subtended by the conspicuous leaf-like stipules; bracts 3–4 mm long, linear; bracteoles absent.
    Calyx
    Calyx 5–7 mm long, pilose; upper and lateral lobes joined slightly higher, c. 3 mm long, subulate.
    Corolla
    Standard yellow, shorter than the keel and scarcely exceeding the calyx, narrowly elliptic-ovate, extensively pubescent outside; wings a little shorter than the standard; keel 6–7 mm long, narrow, slightly upcurved to the obtuse reddish tip, extensively pubescent.
    Fruits
    Pods 3–6 × 1.5–2 mm, narrowly oblong-obovoid to oblong-elliptic, often somewhat tapered to the base, slightly downcurved at the tip, pubescent distally, c. 8-seeded, but some seeds often aborted.
    Seeds
    Seeds 1 mm long, oblique-cordiform, smooth, pale brown.
