    Habit
    Stems numerous, erect from a woody rootstock, simple or sparingly branched above, 8–25 cm tall, resprouting after burning, pilose.
    Leaves
    Leaves 3-foliolate, shortly petiolate; leaflets 8–20 × 3–7 mm, oblanceolate-elliptic to obovate-elliptic, pilose, especially beneath; stipules single at each node, resembling a small leaflet, shortly stalked, 8–12 × 2–3 mm.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescences terminal, shortly pedunculate, subumbelliform, 6–16(24)-flowered; bract inserted on the pedicel, 2–3 mm long, filiform; pedicel 3–7 mm long, elongating in fruit (when bract is easier to see); bracteoles lacking.
    Calyx
    Calyx 5–6 mm long, pilose; upper and lateral lobes inserted higher, c. 2 mm long, subulate-triangular.
    Corolla
    Standard yellow, as long as the keel, c. 4 mm wide, narrowly obovate-elliptic, pubescent outside at least medially; keel 8–10 mm long, rounded at the tip, pubescent.
    Fruits
    Pods spreading, shortly exserted, 8–10 × 3–3.5 mm, elliptic-oblong, glabrescent, few-seeded.
    Seeds
    Seeds 1.5–2 mm across, rounded oblique-cordiform.
