    Habit
    Parasitic herb, up to 20 cm tall.

    Stems simple, unbranched, glandular-villous, drying black
    Leaves
    Leaves opposite, sessile or shortly petiolate, broadly ovate, 6–15 mm long, 6–14 mm wide, base truncate to cordate, apex acute to obtuse, margins entire, glabrous to sparsely glandular on the midrib on the abaxial side
    Flowers
    Flowers solitary in the axils of leaves; pedicels up to 2 mm long
    Calyx
    Calyx inflated, 8–9 mm long, unequally 5-lobed, 10-veined; lobes ovate, ± 3 mm, acute, sparsely ciliate with long ± glandular hairs
    Corolla
    Corolla pink, tubular, 5-lobed, somewhat oblique; tube curved, 10–12 mm long, expanding above; lobes subequal, ovate-oblong, 5–6 mm long, obtuse, ?reflexed

    Stamens inserted at the distal part of the corolla tube, included; upper filaments ± 3 mm long, lower 2.5 mm long; anthers ± 1.5 mm long, slightly curved, attached transverse to the filament
