    Habit
    Shrub 0.3–2 m. high.
    Stem
    Young stems glabrous to pubescent or tomentellous, armed here and there with recurved or sometimes spreading stipular spines 2–5 mm. long in pairs at the nodes; scattered prickles absent.
    Stipules
    Stipules on leafy shoots often foliaceous, rounded or reniform, 0.5–2 cm. in diameter.

    Leaves:petiole with rhachis 0.7–5.5(–7.7) cm. long, armed with minute prickles or spinulose stipels at insertions of pinnae; pinnae 2–6 pairs, 0.4–3.2 cm. long; leaflets (2–)3–5 pairs per pinna, elliptic, broadly elliptic or rotund, 2–9.5(–18) mm. long, 1.5–6(–13) mm. wide, glabrous to pubescent.

    Racemes lateral or terminating short lateral shoots, 1–15-flowered.
    Bracts
    Bracts caducous, 3–3.5 mm. long.
    Pedicel
    Pedicels 5–17 mm. long.
    Calyx
    Sepals 5–6 mm. long (lower sepal up to 10 mm. long).
    Corolla
    Petals greenish-yellow, 5–6.5 mm. long, with a suborbicular or obovate-suborbicular lamina 3–6 mm. wide.
    Anthers
    Anthers densely woolly-pubescent.
    Pistil
    Ovary and style glabrous.
    Fruits
    Pod (only young ones seen) flattened, unarmed.
