    Habit
    Shrub, sometimes scandent, or woody herb, 0.9–2 m high; stems scabridulous and glandular.
    Leaves
    Leaves petiolate, the petiole 1–3.5 cm long, blade ovate, 2.5–11 cm long, 1–5.5 cm wide, base cuneate to rounded, margins crenate to irregularly dentate with callose tips, apex acute and mucronate, pilose on midrib and veins, glandular beneath, strongly reticulate.
    Capitulum
    Capitula 6–9 mm long, heterogamous, many together in large leafy corymbs; stalks of individual capitula 1–5 mm long; phyllaries ovate to lanceolate, 2–6 mm long, margins slightly erose and ciliate, acute, glandular.
    Florets
    Florets yellow; outer ray florets with cylindric tube, 2.5–2.8 mm long, limb 4.5–6.5 mm long, 1.5–2 mm wide, 3-toothed, style 3.5–5 mm long; inner disc florets few (3–5), tube cylindric or slightly infundibuliform, 3–4.2 mm long, lobes four, 1.3–1.4 mm long, glandular, anthers 2.2–2.8 mm long, style 4–6 mm long.
    Fruits
    Achenes 1.4–2 mm long, sparsely glandular; pappus 3–5 mm long.
