    Habit
    Dwarf, subherbaceous annual, 4–7.5 cm. tall when flowering; stems none or to c. 2.5 cm. long, erect, fleshy, scaly.
    Leaves
    Leaves all reduced to scales.
    Scales
    Scales many, crowded, appressed, 3–6 mm. in diam., subcircular to broadly ovate, sessile, entire, viscid-puberulous, fleshy.
    Flowers
    Flowers several, crowded in axils of scale-like bracts, subsessile, bibracteolate.
    Bracts
    Bracts c. 10 x 6.5 mm., broadly ovate-oblong, minutely apiculate, viscid-puberulous.
    Calyx
    Calyx 16.5–24 mm. long, campanulate-oblong, glandular-pubescent without; lobes (5.5)7–10 mm. long, lanceolate-oblong, obtuse, two shorter and more connate than the others.
    Corolla
    Corolla pink with whitish to cream throat; tube c. 3 cm. long, cylindrical-funiculate, gently curved, c. 3.5 mm. wide at base, widening to 12 mm. at throat, glandular-pubescent without; limb 25–30 mm. in diam.; lobes c. 9 x 7 mm., obovate-circular, undulate-crenulate.
    Fruits
    Mature capsule not seen.
