- Habit
- Prostrate herb, up to 40 cm, with numerous stems rooting from nodes.
- Stem
- Stems unbranched for 10–15 cm, nearly glabrous to pubescent in two lines; nodes 3–6 mm apart
- Leaves
- Leaves ovate-orbicular, ± 5 mm long, 4 mm wide, rounded or cuneate at base, apex obtuse, margins minutely crenate, rather thick, usually ciliate or pubescent on the midrib beneath and on the short petiole
- Inflorescences
- Inflorescence of terminal racemes, lax (flowers appearing solitary in leaf axils); pedicels ± 2 mm long
- Calyx
- Calyx lobes 4, spatulate-lanceolate, ± 3 mm long, obtuse, ciliate
- Corolla
- Corolla blue, rotate, 9 mm long
- Fruits
- Capsule obcordate, ± 3 mm long, ± 2 mm wide.
