    Habit
    Shrub or small tree to 10 m tall.
    Leaves
    Leaves ovate, 2.8–10.5 cm long, 1.8–5.5 cm wide, acuminate at the apex, rounded, truncate or even slightly cordate at the base, margin shallowly crenate-dentate to ± entire, ± glabrous and glossy green above, paler beneath, sometimes young leaves slightly glandular and sticky; petiole 4–16 mm long, glabrous or rarely with a very short stellate pubescence.

    Inflorescence a 1–3-flowered cyme, 1–2 in a leaf-axil; peduncle 7–15 mm long; pedicels 3–7 mm long.
    Flowers
    Flowers yellow, pale green outside; sepals 8–10 mm long; petals 4–8 mm long, bifid.
    Androgynophore
    Androgynophore 0.5–1 mm long, glabrous.
    Stamens
    Stamens 6–7 mm long, yellow.
    Pistil
    Ovary 1.5–2 mm long, densely pubescent; style 5–8 mm long, glabrous; stigma green.
    Fruits
    Fruit unlobed, subglobose, 8–10 mm long, 8–9 mm wide, greyish green becoming dark brown when ripe, covered with a short stellate pubescence.
