    Habit
    It is a shrub or small tree to 6 m.
    Leaves
    Leaves oblong to oblong-lanceolate or -oblanceolate, 6–18 cm. long, 1.5–4.5 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, cordate at the base, pubescent above, velvety stellate-tomentose beneath, crenulate.
    Flowers
    Small greenish or purple flowers in dense axillary many-flowered cymes.
    Fruits
    Small purple very ornamental drupes.
