    Habit
    Woody climber or scandent shrub with young parts ferruginous-villous with rather long hairs, later glabrescent and with pale lenticels; tendrils glabrescent.
    Leaves
    Leaves 3–5-foliolate (specimens almost invariably with some 5-foliolate leaves); petiole up to 2·8 cm. long; stipules c. 5 mm. long, ± oblong, ferruginous-villous, very caducous; leaflet-lamina up to 9 × 2·8 cm., narrowly oblong to oblong-oblanceolate, the terminal leaflet the longest, apex acute or obtuse, margins entire or with a few dentations, ± revolute, base cuneate, glabrous above, appressed-ferruginous-pubescent below at least on the main nerves and midrib; main nerves ± prominent below and usually having domatia in their axils; petiolules up to 0·8 mm. long.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescences of rather lax cymes; branches of inflorescence ferruginous-hairy; peduncle up to 5 mm. long; pedicels 1–2 mm. long; bracts not seen.
    Calyx
    Calyx and corolla appressed-ferruginous-pubescent.
    Fruits
    Ripe fruits not seen.
