    Tufted annual or short-lived perennial.
    Rhizomes
    Rhizome whitish, ascending, 5–13 × 0.7–1 mm.

    Culms 3–4.8 cm tall, 0.4–0.6 mm diameter, without nodes
    Leaves
    Leaves with brown sheath 13–23 × 0.8–1.7 mm; blade 45–107 × 0.6–1 mm

    Inflorescence pseudolateral, not proliferating.
    Bracts
    Bract 20–67 × 0.3–0.7 mm.
    Spikelets
    Spikelets 1–3, 6–8.5 × 2.1–2.6 mm, with 18–27 glumes.

    Glumes green, 2.4–3.2 × 0.8–1.4 mm, acute, midrib green with mucro to 0.1 mm long
